IPC Athletics unrolled a new-look www.IPC-Athletics.org on Monday (19 May) to give the sport a bolder digital identity and better showcase its international athletes and brand.

The new design, also launched on the mobile version of the website, still features the latest news, events, results and rankings, and it now includes the IPC Athletics sports pictogram and images of leading athletes at the top of the page.

Enhancing the IPC Athletics website is a step toward promoting the largest existing para-sport to a global audience as its own brand – a goal outlined in the IPC Athletics Strategic Plan published at the end of 2013.

Ryan Montgomery, Head of IPC Athletics, said: “The IPC Athletics website has become a tremendous resource for fans and media alike, and we are continuing to enhance its look and content to ensure our sport keeps up with the latest digital trends and establishes a brand name for itself globally.”

Already on the website, fans and media have had the chance to catch up on the latest developments in the sport and read about a jam-packed 2014 season.

2014 is highlighted by the second year of the IPC Athletics Grand Prix series, which began in February in Dubai, UAE, and is composed of nine events, including the final on 25 August in Birmingham, Great Britain.

The 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships will take place just before that from 18-23 August in Swansea, Great Britain, and the sport will also be included in the Asian Para-Games from 18-24 October in Incheon, South Korea.
