The 2013 IPC Powerlifting Asian Championships will be held from 9-13 July in Gwangju, Korea.

IPC Powerlifting recently held a national referee’s course from 23-26 April in Icheon, Korea, helping officials familiarise themselves better with the sport’s technical rules prior to July’s Asian Championships in the region.

The course, organised by the Korea Powerlifting Federation for the Disabled, drew 15 participants who studied the rulebook through three days of interactive courses followed by a written exam.

All 15 participants passed the course, learning everything about the sport from the competition process and field of play decisions to results, rankings and records.
