Jordan reveals Rio 2016 team

Ten athletes will represent Jordan at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in powerlifting, table tennis and athletics.

Among Jordan’s highlights are world champion powerlifter Mutaz Al Juneidi. Juneidi broke the world record in the men’s up to 88kg, en route to the gold medal at the 2014 World Championships. He will be joined by Omar Sami Hamadeh Qarada, Abdelkareem Mohammad Ahmad Khattab, Haidarah Alkawamleh, Jamil Elshebli and Tharwh Tayseer Hamdan Alhajaj.

Table tennis players Maha Al Barghouthi, Khetam Abuawad and Osama Abu Jame got their tickets stamped for the Games, and Bilal Sa'ada will compete in athletics.

The team was revealed under His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Raad Bin Zaid, the Jordan Paralympic Committee President (JPC) and Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) Secretary General Lana Al Jaghbeer, along with the athletes.

Sport fans from around the world can now buy their Paralympic tickets for Rio 2016 from authorised ticket resellers (ATRs)

The IPC’s Global ATR is Jet Set Sports, and Rio 2016 tickets and packages can be purchased on the CoSport website.

Residents of Brazil can buy 2016 Paralympics tickets directly from the Rio 2016 website.

Visa International is the exclusive payment card and the official payment system for the Paralympic Games.
