Lima 2019: The official song is here!

‘Juguemos Todos’ performed at live show in Peruvian capital 20 Apr 2019 By Lima 2019

The Lima 2019 Organising Committee has launched the Pan American and Parapan American Games’ official song ‘Juguemos Todos’ (Let’s all play) at a live show held at the Domos Art venue in the Peruvian capital city.

National singer, song-writer and guitarist Pedro Suarez-Vertiz attended the event as the song’s composer. “I hope we all sing acting as one voice to show we all play in Peru,” he said.

Lead singer Guillermo Bussinger performed on stage, while Suarez-Vertiz's daughter Maria Jose oversaw the vocal harmony.

The song seeks to reflect the brotherhood among the Americas countries, bringing them all together on Peruvian soil for the biggest sport competition in the continent.

“Sports and culture unite people,” Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhaus said.

“This song will represent us and having Pedro Suarez-Vertiz composing it is the best tribute for all he has done for Peruvian music. His song will be heard by 400 million people around the world and we are happy for that.”

Juan Jose Guevara, Mayor of the Lima district of San Miguel, added: “We are working to welcome the Games and live the Pan American and Parapan American Games to the fullest.

“But the most important thing is the legacy they will leave us. San Miguel is in sporting mode.”

The Lima 2019 Parapan American Games will be held between 23 August-1 September and will feature a record 1,850 athletes who will compete in 17 sports, two more than Toronto 2015.
