A total of 198 medal events will be contested including 116 male and 82 female events across track and field.

Full details of the qualification criteria and event list for the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships, which will take place from 18-23 August in Swansea, Wales.

Around 600 athletes from 40 countries are expected to arrive in the Welsh city looking to put strong performances ahead of the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships which take place in Doha, Qatar.

Athletes have until 21 July, 2014 to qualify for the Championships, which will be the biggest athletics event on British shores since London 2012 and the start of the British Athletics Anniversary Games, and follows a hugely successful 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, this Summer.

Organisers recently revealed the competition logo at a press conference attended by IPC Chief Executive Xavier Gonzalez and announced that they are aiming to make Swansea 2014 the biggest and best IPC Athletics European Championships to date, setting a new standard for production, outreach and delivery.

The last European Championships were held in Staadskanal, the Netherlands, and attracted nearly 500 athletes from 40 countries. Russia dominated the event, finishing on top of the medals table with 29 golds amongst a total of 76 medals. Ukraine finished second with 17 golds and Germany third with 14.
