Editor’s note: Each sport on the Rio 2016 Paralympic programme will have a dedicated week of featured content published on paralympic.org. Every week a new sport will be featured and the series will run until September’s Games, helping the public understand more about the 22 sports being contested in Rio.

Boccia at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will be contested in the Carioca Arena 2, located in the Barra Olympic Park that is west of Rio de Janeiro.

The arena is conveniently located five minutes from the Olympic and Paralympic Village. During the Olympic Games, it will host judo and wrestling, then boccia during the Paralympic Games. After the Games, it will be part of the Olympic Training Centre (OTC).

The Barra Olympic Park has the largest concentration of Games venues among the four clusters, and is also home of the Athletes' Park and International Broadcasting Centre-Main Press Centre complex.

Boccia competition gets underway 10-16 September.
