It is #SuperheroSunday and time to hear from Germany’s European long jump T42 champion Vanessa Low - one of 225 athletes from 13 countries who will line up at next week’s (15-16 May) IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Mesa, USA.

The 24-year-old takes on the 100m as well as the long jump in Mesa as she gears up for a thrilling year of track and field, culminating in October’s IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar, where Low will be hoping to secure her first global title.

Here are Low’s three heroes:

1. My Mum

Loving wife, raising three girls and having a successful career. She’s got it all.

2. Robin Williams (late actor)

He was one of the best actors and comedians of all time and he understood how to give back. He was a major supporter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

3. Carl Lewis (former Olympic champion)

Amazing athlete and personality I got to meet last year at a speaking engagement. His attitude is a great example for athletes. Work hard and have fun in what you're doing.

Low is set to be one of 1,300 athletes from 90 countries who compete at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships which take place in Doha, Qatar, between 22-31 October.
