US reveal World Sledge Hockey Challenge roster

The US national ice sledge hockey team begins its 2016 campaign at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada, between 17-23 January.

The USA, which won the 2015 World Sledge Hockey Challenge, will compete against Canada, South Korea and Russia at the Lunenberg County Lifestyle Centre.

Team USA has won four of the last five major international events, including the 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championship in Buffalo, New York; the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games; the 2012 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships in Hamar, Norway; and the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

The US roster is highlighted by captain Josh Sweeney; alternate captains Nikko Landeros and Josh Pauls; and goaltender Steve Cash. For the complete roster, visit USA Hockey’s website.

Sunday 17 January V South Korea (11am ET)

Monday 18 January V Russia (11am ET)

Wednesday 20 January V Canada (6pm ET)

Semi-final games will be played on Thursday 21 January (1pm and 6pm (ET)) with the third place play-off scheduled for 12pm (ET) on Saturday 23 January. The final will also take place at 4pm on 23 January.
