Candidates for World Para Powerlifting Athlete Liaison election revealed

World Para Powerlifting has announced the four candidates that will run for the Athlete Liaison election at the Tbilisi 2021 World Championships.  

The four candidates are: 

Ali Jawad (Great Britain) 

Sherif Osman (Egypt) 

Roohallah Rostami (Iran) 

Sedric Roussel Watchou Kouokam (Hungary) 

The Athlete Liaison will serve a four-year term (2022-2025) on the Sport Technical Committee (STC) liaising between the athletes and the World Para Powerlifting Management Team.  

The mission of the Athlete Liaison is to represent the views of the whole Para powerlifting athlete community, including all impairment types, looking for equal gender representation and making sure that athletes’ voices are heard within World Para Powerlifting.  

The election will take place online from 9:00 AM on 26 November to 9:00 PM on 4 December Georgian time (GMT +4) via the World Para Powerlifting Athlete Liaison website. 

Only athletes accredited to the Tbilisi 2021 World Championships will be allowed to vote.

This will be the second World Para Powerlifting Athlete Liaison election. The first one took place at the Mexico City 2017 World Championships for the period 2018-2021.
