Great Britain’s Aled Davies broke his own shot put F42 world record on Sunday (28 February) with a throw of 16.14m at the Indoor British Championships in Sheffield.

The two-time world champion, who is hoping to improve on the shot put bronze he won at London 2012, added an impressive 15 centimetres to his previous best set in Cardiff last month.

“So happy to have broken the 16m barrier – now onto 17m. 2016 is shaping up nicely, roll on summer!” tweeted Davies soon after breaking the record.

Davies clearly likes competing in Sheffield as in February 2015 he set a world record there when he threw 15.93m.
