London 2017 silver medallist Riccardo Bagaini leads the latest list of athletes confirmed for the first World Para Athletics Junior Championships, which take place in Nottwil, Switzerland from 3-6 August.

16-year-old Bagaini will be Italy’s main medal hope, having taken silver at the World Championships as part of the men’s 4x100m relay T42-47 team.

In Nottwil, he will be joined by Marco Pentagoni, Mattia Cardia, Elia Frezza, Mario Bertolaso, Raffaele di Maggio, Carlotta Bertoli, Bianca Marini and Margherita Paciolla.

Austria’s Alexander Pototschnig also competed at London 2017, finishing sixth in the men’s 400m T47 and seventh in the 200m T47. He will now participate in the Junior Worlds, alongside fellow wheelchair racer Ludwig Malter.

Four athletes will represent host country Switzerland Andrin Deschwanden (100m, 200m, 400m T33/34) and Dario Studer (100m, 200m, 400m T51-54) will be the two male representatives, while Wayra Lina Huber (100m, 200m, 400m T51-54) and Licia Mussinelli (100m, 200m, 400m T51-54, 800m and 1,500m T53-54) will take part in the women’s events.

Three Czech athletes will also participate; Matej Berdis, Michal Vimmer and Martin Adamcik.
