The Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and the impact of the Games for Para athletics in the host country will be the focus of the third edition of Ottobock Get Together on World Para Athletics Facebook page on Friday (4 September).

Paralympic champion and Ottobock Get Together host Heinrich Popow receives three special guests online directly from Japan.

Tomomi Tozawa is one of the most promising athletes in the Japanese Para athletics team. In her World Championships debut last year in Dubai, she took a bronze medal in the women’s long jump T63.

Nobukazu Hanaoka is a Paralympic wheelchair racer who competed at the Athens 2004 and London 2012. He is also the Vice President of Japan’s Para Athletics Federation.

Ayumi Hirayama is the International Liaison for Japan’s Para Athletics Federation.

Every month Ottobock Get Together takes a closer look at Para athletics from the life and experience of the world’s best athletes. 

The latest edition brought different generations together with USA’s under 17 world champion and Lima 2019 Parapan American Games medallist Ezra Frech and four-time Paralympic champion Brian Frasure.

The first edition was joined by Germany’s Paralympic and world champion Johannes Floors and Switzerland’s Young Para Athlete of the Year Sofia Gonzalez talking about their experiences with prosthetic legs.
