Server Ibragimov celebrated an impressive debut at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games with a Paralympic bronze medal. Yet, surprisingly, he revealed that his first thoughts after the P1 (men’s 10m air pistol SH1) finals had ended were “What a shame! This could have been even better!”

The Uzbek shooter has built on his Paralympic success in 2017, winning the P1 final at the International Shooting Competition of Hannover, Germany, as well as the silver in the P4 (50m air pistol mixed SH1).

It seems to be high time to find out more about the 38-year-old, whose calm on the shooting range might benefit from the patience needed for one of his favorite hobbies. So in his own words, here are three things you probably don’t know about Server Ibragimov.

1. “One of my favorite things to do is to go fishing. I love it. I just really like the process: sitting on the riverbank with a fishing rod in hand, waiting. I find it very calming.”

2.“I really like to listen to music. It relaxes me a lot.”

3. “One of my greatest pleasures is to communicate with friends on the internet. When you have friends living in far away places, the internet is a great way to stay in touch.”
