Today’s #SuperheroSunday is brought to you by Switzerland’s four-time European champion Manuela Schaer.

The T54 wheelchair racer dominated at last year’s IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea, Great Britain, and will be hoping for a winning performance on home soil at next weekend’s (29-31 May) IPC Athletics Grand Prix series in Nottwil, Switzerland.

The event, which is supported by Allianz, is regarded as the world’s best wheelchair meeting of the year and the 30-year-old is likely to face her arch rival Tatyana McFadden of the USA.

Here are Schaer’s picks for our Superhero Sunday series.

Chantal Petitclerc (Canadian wheelchair racer, winner of 21 Paralympic medals including 14 gold across five Games)

In my opinion the most impressive athlete in female wheelchair racing so far.

Dr. Guido A. Zäch

Founder of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Founder of the concept of a holistic Rehabilitation of paraplegic patients.

My Grandma

Because she is awesome and still cooks the best "Chnöpfli" in the world.

The IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Nottwil, Switzerland takes place between 29-31 May.
