The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has revealed the shortlist for the Allianz Athlete of the Month for April, and the public can now vote for the winner on www.paralympic.org.

The nominations are:

Gemma Collis-McCann, Great Britain, wheelchair fencing

Took gold in the women´s epee category A at the Montreal World Cup after beating world champion Zsuzsanna Krajnyak of Hungary in the final. McCann returned to competition only this year after a long recovery from a neurological disorder.

Robert Griswold, USA, swimming

Topped the men’s standings at the Indianapolis World Series, and his points tally of 1,913 put him in fourth of the World Series rankings. It was his season debut, and the S8 swimmer won gold in the men's 100m backstroke (finishing just a second off his personal best) and 400m freestyle.

Madison de Rozario, Australia, athletics

Won the women´s 1,500m and marathon T54 golds at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games before going on to secure the win in the women’s T53/54 race at the London Marathon.

Hollie Arnold, Wales, athletics

Set a world record of 44.43m on her way to gold in the women's javelin F46 at the Commonwealth Games.

Melissa Tapper, Australia, table tennis

Delighted a massive home crowd by securing table tennis gold in the women’s singles TT6-10 at Gold Coast 2018.

The public has until 12:00 (CEST) on Friday (11 May) to vote for the athlete they want to be the Allianz Athlete of the Month for April 2018 via the International Paralympic Committee homepage.

The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) and International Federations (IFs).
