Italy's two-time Paralympic champion Martina Caironi provides us with this week's Holiday Hotspot. Winner of the 100m T42 at Rio 2016, Caironi also picked up silver in the long jump T42 to add to the three world and two European titles already to her name.

The 27-year-old from Alzano Lombardo in northern Italy balances Para athletic success with an impressive variety of interests, be it languages, aerial silks – or travel.

"My favourite holiday destination is Portugal, especially Lisbon, with its colours and the music in the streets. I love to go there because the atmosphere is really relaxing, the place is amazing and there's lots of nice pubs.

"In Portugal there are also beautiful beaches where you can surf - and the next time I'll surely try it."

My two essential items:

I can't leave home without my sunglasses because the light is very bright and also my scarf or foulard for the wind.

Caironi is likely to star at the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships which will take place between 14-23 July. To buy tickets, click here.
