February 2017

Michael Brannigan – 1,500m T20 world record

The talented American has been making a name for himself in middle distance running for the past two years, so it was perhaps no great surprise when the 1,500m T20 world champion added the Paralympic title to his collection last September.

Now the 20-year-old, who has autism, has laid down his marker for 2017 with a new 1,500m T20 world record.

Brannigan clocked 3:45.50 over 1,500m e- route to finishing seventh in the prestigious Invitational Men’s Mile race at the Millrose Games in New York, USA in February. His previous best was 3:48.85 set in 2015.
