This week’s Holiday Hotspot comes from World Para Athletics' ‘Ones to Watch’ newcomer, T51 wheelchair racer Peter Genyn.

The Belgian cemented his place in the 2017 list after he followed up two world titles in 2015 with 100m and 400m T51 gold at the Grosseto 2016 European Championships, then won double gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The former wheelchair rugby player, who turned to Para athletics in 2013, clocked a new 400m T51 world record last year too and will head to this year’s World Championships as the man to beat.

Peter Genyn - My Holiday Hotspot:

My favourite holiday would be Florida, in the USA. The weather is great and in the USA everything is wheelchair accessible.

My two essential items

The two things I would take? That’s a tough one - my wheelchair and good company ;-)

Genyn is likely to line up for Belgium at the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships between 14-23 July. To buy tickets click here.
