The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic represents an unprecedented situation which has affected the lives of millions of people around the world, including athletes, coaches and National Paralympic Committees’ staff. 

The decisions made by different governments to deal with the situation have impacted a series of events.

Here below you can find an updated list of World Para Athletics events which have been cancelled or postponed due to this crisis.

Dubai 2020 Grand Prix, United Arab Emirates, 14-17 March – Cancelled

Sao Paulo 2020 Grand Prix, Brazil, 26-28 March – Cancelled

Arizona 2020 Grand Prix, USA, 2-5 April – Postponed (new dates TBC)

Beijing 2020 Grand Prix, China, 24-26 April – Cancelled 

London 2020 Marathon World Cup, Great Britain, 26 April – Cancelled

Paris 2020 Grand Prix, France, 6-8 May – Cancelled

Jesolo 2020 Grand Prix, Italy, 22-24 May – Cancelled

Nottwil 2020 Grand Prix, Switzerland, 28-30 May - Cancelled

Bydgoszcz 2020 European Championships, Poland, 2-7 June - Postponed to 2021 (new dates TBC)

Tunis 2020 Grand Prix, Tunisia, 26-28 June - Postponed (new dates TBC)

World Para Athletics regrets the cancellation of the events but fully supports the decisions taken by Local Organising Committees (LOCs) to place as number one priority the health and well-being of all those involved. 

World Para Athletics is in constant communication with the LOCs of the cancelled and postponed events.

We are fully aware that the cancellation or postponement of events have an impact on classification opportunities for Para athletes.

World Para Athletics is working with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and LOCs to address these issues and seek potential solutions. 

In order to keep Para athletes, National Paralympic Committees and other stakeholders informed of the latest situation with the coronavirus pandemic, the IPC has published a weekly update including important information and recommendation.
