When and where did you begin this sport?
She learned to swim at age 40, and began competing in the sport in 2014.
Why this sport?
She had a fear of water as a child, but overcame her fear when she took up hydrotherapy as part of her rehabilitation. In 2012 she was inspired to take up Para swimming after watching the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. "A world opened up and I found the confirmation I was looking for like a light, it was an understanding that everything happens for a reason."

Awards and honours
