He took up powerlifting as a hobby in 1998.
Why this sport?
He liked the sport and met an Emirati weightlifter who told him about Para powerlifting. "It was a challenge I had. I wanted to be like everyone else. Since I was a child I felt that I have the capabilities to do anything I want and this encouraged me."
