She began shooting in 2001 in Kobe, Japan.
Why this sport?
She was interested in shooting before she became ill. She was then invited to a shooting activity by a colleague after returning to work from the hospital.

The impairment to her lower limbs is a result of damage to her central nervous system following the rupture of blood vessels in her spinal cord at age 25. (, 21 Mar 2015)
Other information
She has served as an executive director of the Paralympians Association of Japan and was an athlete member of the organising committee for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo. She was also appointed as an ambassador for the torch relay for the 2020 Games. In 2018 she was appointed as athlete liaison officer to the Sport Technical Committee of the World Shooting Para Sport Management Team.
