When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up the sport in December 2014 in Petropavl, Kazakhstan.
Why this sport?
His father was a physical education teacher, so he was involved in a number of sports as a child. Having sustained the impairment to his left arm in 2011, he watched the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi and learned that getting involved in Para sport was possible in Kazakhstan. He did not want to do cross-country skiing at first but changed his mind after coaches invited him to try it. Four months later he won his first national championship. "I have known about this sport since childhood, and I love winter."
