Sport specific information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up Para athletics in 2010.
Why this sport?
He switched from Para swimming to Para athletics at age 15. "I found out I was allergic to chlorine, so swimming was obviously not the best sport for me! I used to come out of the pool sneezing, with bloodshot eyes. So I left swimming aged 15, then athletics coach Job King took me to an athletics talent identification day, and since then I've just got better and better."

Impairment
He was born with cerebral palsy as his umbilical cord was wrapped twice around his neck, constricting blood flow to the brain. "It affects all four of my limbs, my legs mainly. The messages from my brain do not reach my arms and legs properly, which causes problems with things like spatial awareness. My legs are in constant cramp due to my muscles always being tight. This makes walking around difficult so I use a wheelchair to get about." (benrowlings.com, 10 Oct 2014; cpteensuk.org, 09 Jul 2014)
