He decided to pursue a second sporting career in mixed martial arts after the Russian Paralympic Committee was banned from the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He competes against able-bodied opponents and took 47 seconds to win his first fight in 2017 and also claimed victory in one round against Georgy Kurilin from Moscow, Russian Federation in late 2020.
