He first tried para-sport in 1976 in Mexico.
Why this sport?
He was introduced to para-sport by a US volunteer who had seen him train during rehabilitation from surgery. He initially took up swimming, but was then invited to also compete in athletics at an event in Mexico City, Mexico.
