He first tried Para snowboarding in 2012 in Colorado, United States of America.
Why this sport?
"After my injury and the removal of my leg, I struggled with what I would do with my life. I became mentally and physically depressed at the thought of my life not being in the armed forces and not being able to enjoy sports the way I used to. I became so passionate about snowboarding that I immediately started looking for a way to make this my life."

Impairment
In October 2006 while serving with the US Marines 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion in Iraq, he was shot in the right leg. As a result of severe nerve damage caused by the injury, he had his leg amputated below the knee two years later. (gofundme.com, 04 Sep 2014)
