She took up Para athletics in March 2011.

She started the sport because she did not want to hide the fact that she did not have her legs anymore.

In 2013 she lost her prosthetic while running the bend in a 200m race. The injuries she sustained in the fall kept her out of action for three months. (NPC, 15 Oct 2015)

She contracted meningitis in 2002 on the day of her 24th birthday. The illness resulted in the amputation of her legs and all of her fingers apart from both thumbs.
