He comes from a sporting family. His father coached football while his mother coached skiing, and his older brother played football. Participating in skiing, football, and athletics helped him to cope with balance and coordination issues due to his impairment. "For me, sports mean freedom. I am firmly convinced that without sports I would be much worse off."

VOLUNTEER WORK
After finishing school in 2019 he began working as a volunteer coach for young people at the RSV Eintracht 1949 club, as well as at a number of schools under the Federal Volunteers Service [Bundesfreiwilligendienst] programme in Germany. After the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo he intends to start studying to become a teacher.
