In 2013 she received a two-year ban after testing positive for the banned masking agent furosemide at the 2013 World Cup event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She was stripped of her gold medal in the 79kg category at the event and her world record lift of 125kg was also voided. The suspension ran from April 2013 to April 2015.
