When and where did you begin this sport?
He started playing sledge hockey around 1996.
Why this sport?
He was one of the first Germans to try sledge hockey, after Detlef Zinke [president of the RSG Hanover ice hockey club] discovered sledge hockey in 1996 in Sweden, and brought it to Germany. "Through the sport I got total self-confidence", he says. "You have to push through physically, must be clear in your head - and these are precisely the things that are needed for your everyday life."
