She was introduced to Para athletics when Shriners Hospital for Children put her in contact with ParaSport Spokane in the United States of America. "I started wheelchair racing because I wanted to try it out to see what it is like to be a Para athlete."

FROM CHINA TO THE UNITED STATES
She was born in Suzhou, People's Republic of China, and was abandoned on the steps of a hospital as a young child. She was then placed in an orphanage. She was adopted by the family of a volunteer at the orphanage and initially lived in People's Republic of China with the family before they all moved to Spokane, WA, United States of America.
