When and where did you begin this sport?
He began Para cross-country skiing in 2017.
Why this sport?
He initially played baseball at high school level in Japan before his accident. He then tried Para ice hockey and wheelchair softball at a talent identification camp, but decided against pursuing either sport due to the cost of equipment. Coach Hideki Arai later encouraged him to try Para cross-country skiing and offered to help support him financially to pursue the sport.
