Impairment
He was born without the femur [thigh bone] in his right leg. He underwent rotationplasty surgery, where his lower leg was removed, rotated 180 degrees and reattached so his ankle would serve as his knee joint. He was in a body cast for three months following the surgery, and had to learn to walk with a prosthesis. "At first, I felt it was really hard [walking]. Like, why are you making me do this? Now I understand why my dad did it. He didn't want me going around with a walker my whole life."
