Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
He began athletics at age 11, and took up the javelin throw at age 16.
Why this sport?
He used to play football, but after his vision got worse he had to quit. "It was very hard, but I couldn't drag the team down. I realised that it would be better to find an individual sport." He then tried gymnastics, before settling for athletics. "I chose the javelin because that's where the good results came from."
