When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up the javelin in 2004.
Why this sport?
She played football at college and learned about the Paralympic Games after seeing a picture of a Paralympic footballer on the internet. She attended a team training camp and team events. After learning that there was no US women's football team in the Paralympic Games at the time, she switched to swimming, and after competing at Athens 2004, she started athletics.
