He tried shot put for the first time while at Haslett High School, MI, United States of America, but did not take up para-athletics until he was a student at Lansing Community College, MI, United States of America.
Why this sport?
He tried shot put at high school on the recommendation of an athletics coach but did not enjoy it. He began lifting weights at a local gym and running when he was a student at Lansing Community College, MI, United States of America. It was his stepmother who encouraged him to join a team.

General interest

A hamstring injury prevented him from being selected for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. (, 21 Jan 2016)
