When and where did you begin this sport?
He began powerlifting in grade 11 of high school.
Why this sport?
He got involved in wheelchair tennis in grade six of primary school. When he became a high school student, he participated in a talent identification camp and found a booth for Para powerlifting. He decided to focus on Para powerlifting in his second year of university. "I tried out the sport, and [Japanese Para powerlifters] Hajime Ujiro and Hiroshi Miura and [coach] Susumu Yoshida told me, 'You are doing well', so it made me take up the sport."
