When and where did you begin this sport?
He began skiing at age three, and took up alpine skiing at age nine in Yahaba, Japan.
Why this sport?
His parents suggested the sport to him and he wanted to overcome his impairment. He played handball while in middle school, before deciding to get involved in competitive Para alpine skiing in grade 10 of high school. "I helped at a Para alpine skiing event, checking courses before the competition. I met many Para skiers and wanted to be part of their world."
