Impairment
She was born with Arthrogryposis, resulting in club feet, a dislocated hip and underdeveloped legs. She was also born with a hole in her stomach and bladder and gastroschisis [intestines outside the body]. Initially doctors thought she would never walk, but at age five she had 12 pins inserted in her leg and a metal frame around her legs for six months, followed by two months in a body case.
