He began playing Para ice hockey at age 10 in Kamen, Germany.
Why this sport?
He played sports from an early age, but as he got older his ankle joints could no longer cope with sports that involved running. He decided to try Para ice hockey after former national team players Sven Stumpe and Carsten Brinkhoff introduced him to the sport.
