She took up the sport at age 38 at a talent identification day in the Netherlands.
Why this sport?
She had to stop playing wheelchair basketball due to problems with her hip. She attended a talent identification day in the Netherlands and was invited to join the wheeler talent programme. "What I like about this sport is that you can do it everywhere. I didn't expect to like it so much. I love the combination of racing on the short distances, training outside and power training."
