She took up the sport in 2013 in Chile.
Why this sport?
She took up wheelchair tennis at age 16 before switching to Para powerlifting because she wanted to spend more time with her son. "I travelled a lot with wheelchair tennis and I didn't enjoy being away from my son as I could be away for one month at a time. With powerlifting I'm away only five times a year."
