Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
She first got involved in Para sport in 2013, and began focusing on wheelchair racing in 2015.
Why this sport?
"A friend encouraged me to take up Para sport. I was told, 'You have an impairment, but your body is still healthy. You should take part in sports'. I had really liked sports when I was in school. I tried wheelchair tennis and badminton, but they weren't a good fit for me. In the end I chose athletics, wheelchair racing, because I like speed and strength."

EARLY DAYS
After her accident, she took up sewing at a foundation that supports people with impairments in Jakarta, Indonesia. She took up Para athletics almost 10 years later. "I lost all my confidence after the accident. The foundation helped me gain skills to support myself after I became impaired. I chose sewing and spent time working in the field for quite a while. So, my message is do not give up easily if you want to get involved in Para sport." (asiangames.tempo.co, 06 Sep 2018; bolasport.com, 06 Sep 2018; VICE Indonesia YouTube channel, 26 Jun 2018)
