General interest

Impairment
In November 2007, his legs were crushed by a timber transfer truck in an accident at work. As a result, both legs were amputated above the knee. He returned to his job as an electrical and automation manager less than two months after the accident. "It was a gloomy moment when I realised I didn't have my legs. I was so dazed on all the drugs at the time that I don't really remember much other than the deep grief." (iltalehti.fi, 11 Nov 2021; yle.fi, 11 Nov 2018; Athlete, 13 Jun 2016)
