He began Para alpine skiing in December 2014 through the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program [TASP] in Colorado, United States of America.

He was inspired to take up the sport after watching Canadian Para alpine skier Stephen Ellefson on the slopes in Telluride, CO, United States of America.

Impairment
In 2004 he was hit by an improvised explosive device [IED] while serving in the US Army in Iraq. The explosion tore the artery and nerves in his right arm. He was unable to use his hand or arm and also sustained a traumatic brain injury. He underwent a reconstructive operation that involved doctors taking nerves out of his right leg and putting them into his arm.
