When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up swimming at age eight in Scarborough, ON, Canada. She began competing at age nine.
Why this sport?
"I never want to leave the pool. Swimming has actually helped my disability. It has taught me independence and self-confidence. It's taught me to be myself. Swimming has given me the opportunity to compete, with a disability, at a high level of competition which isn't always the case in other sports."
