Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
He got involved in Para snowboard in 2014.
Why this sport?
He was overweight as a teenager so his older brother Patrick took him to the gym. He began training five times a week, and the intensity of his sessions was noticed by someone who thought he could be a potential Para athlete. He was invited to a talent identification day and then took up Para athletics. He switched to Para snowboard after having a conversation with the winter sports coach. "I have two brothers who snowboard, but doctors told me it was impossible for me to snowboard. I can't control my right leg so they thought it was a no-go, but I showed them they were wrong about that."

I wanted to see, but hit my head on the edge. I immediately started to cry and my father tried to comfort me, but I spoke very confused, a kind of gibberish. My parents took me straight to the emergency room as they felt something was wrong." (eigenkracht.nl, 01 Sep 2014)
