Impairment
He fell during a volleyball training session and broke his kneecap as well as tearing ligaments. He underwent surgery but later bone cancer was diagnosed, and his leg was amputated. In 2006 part of his lung was also removed due to metastasis. (web.sugardas.lt, 15 Apr 2012)
