She took up the sport in 2005 in Volgograd, Russian Federation.
Why this sport?
As part of her rehabilitation doctors told her mother to enrol her in swimming classes, together with her sister, who has the same impairment. At age 16 she took part in her first competition and became interested in making further progress in the sport.
